MORIJIRI CHIKAYO (aka "CHIKKI")
 - FOUNDER and CEO -

Chikki Media was founded in 2011 by Chikayo Morijiri, having accumulated over 15 years of production experience working for both Japanese and international networks and news outlets. Chikki has a reputation as one of Japan's most prominent fixers and production coordinators.

Chikki assisted production for CBBC's "Officially Amazing," which was honored with awards from the Royal Television Society Scotland in 2015, and again this year. Chikki Media has also assisted production for programs that have been nominated for the Walkley Awards and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

OUR TEAM


Chikki Media started out as a fixer service in 2011, and has since grown to include a multitude of talents within our team, including a world record holder/comedian and an international writer/director who has a deep understanding of Japanese culture. We've now worked on more than 100 programs for some of the biggest networks in the world, including BBC, Al Jazeera English, ABC, and VICE. We are connected to a strong network of media professionals throughout Japan.

He currently holds 12 world records, including “The most nuts crushed by sitting down in 30 seconds,” the “Most whoopee cushions sat on in 30 seconds,” and “The most jelly eaten with chopsticks in one minute,” just to name a few. His endeavours has been noticed around the globe, and he has been featured on the British children's TV show “Officially Amazing” for three consecutive seasons. He was also a centre of focus for a documentary by Vice documentary, in which a television crew followed him as he challenged himself to break a new world record.

Nobutaka "Taka" Shirahama Cinematographer/Director  Taka is a seasoned cameraman who has a strong background as a DOP and a photographer. Taka got his start as a lighting expert, and now works as a renowned cameraman for both domestic and international film, as well as commercials and TV programs. His past works for Chikkimedia include the BAFTA nominated CBBC program "Officially Amazing Seasons 1 and 2," as well news segments for "VICE News" and "VICE on HBO." He is a smart, flexible, and autonomous cinematographer you would want for  any production.

Despite of his limited understanding in English, he can communicate in conversational level and supports with big heart and big body!
